We all loved the original Plants vs Zombies – a tower defense game where you had to defend your home from hordes of zombies by planting a variety of different plants. Well, the sequel has arrived and it’s called "Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare". You can play as either the plants or the zombies and it’s really addictive. We were lucky enough to get our hands on a copy for PC, so here is our review. In single player mode you have three characters to choose from: Rose, Citron and Wall-Nut. Each character has their own special abilities. For the plants you have Peashooter, Sunflower, Repeater and Wall-Nut with their own individual skills. For the zombies, there is Buckethead, Cactus, Imp and Snow Pea with different skills. The game itself is really fun to play as each character feels unique to play as. With over ten classes that you unlock as you level up, you’re sure to find one that suits your playing style. Throughout the game is a variety of bosses that are all unique in their own way with some being really challenging to beat. You control your character with the mouse and left-click to shoot. By holding down the right mouse button it will activate your character’s special ability. There is also a sprint/dash feature which allows you to run away quickly or move into a position that is more tactical. You can first pick up a primary weapon and then a secondary weapon, such as a grenade or a rocket launcher. The primary objective is to destroy the enemy's garden by blowing up their sunflowers. After destroying the first garden, you’ll be able to move on to another one on the map until all of them have been destroyed. The zombies’ objective is to fight you to the death by fighting your way to the last sunflower on the map. The plant character’s objective is to keep their garden green and alive for as long as possible while the zombies want it taken down. What makes this game so enjoyable is that it constantly throws new twists at you which will constantly surprise you with their creativity. It constantly keeps you coming back for more action. The maps are constantly changing constantly making things very different every time. The controls are really easy to get used too, but I did find that sometimes I would lose or lose my weapon when switching characters, whether it be during a race or in an online battle. There is a tutorial in the beginning of the game that will show you the ropes but after that you’re on your own. There are three multiplayer modes: Garden Ops, Graveyard Ops and Team Vanquish, which all support four players and can be played online with friends. For example, in Graveyard Ops there is a Zombie Boss and two flag carriers for each team. The flags need to be taken back to the graveyard so your team can win. In the Team Vanquish mode you need to fight off wave after wave of enemies until time runs out, with every kill you get upping your score multiplier.
